74LS153 DIP Dual 1-of-4 Line Data Selectors/Multiplexers
The 74LS153 is a high speed TTL integrated circuit containing two independent 1-of-4 data selectors and multiplexers. Each of the two sections features its own four data inputs and an individual active low strobe input. While each multiplexer section operates independently, they share a common set of two binary select inputs which determine which data input is routed to the respective outputs.
This dual configuration is highly efficient for applications requiring the simultaneous selection of two bits of data from two different sources. When the strobe input for a section is high, the output for that section is forced to a low logic level regardless of the data or select inputs. The 74LS153 is commonly used in parallel-to-serial conversion, data routing, and as a function generator to implement complex logic for digital control systems.
