The IN1232N is a high-performance microprocessor supervisory circuit from IK Semiconductor, designed to monitor three vital conditions for microprocessors: power supply, software execution, and external override. Housed in a standard 8-pin DIP package, it functions as a direct equivalent to the industry-standard DS1232.
The IC features a precision temperature-compensated reference and comparator circuit that monitors the VCC status, generating an active reset signal if an out-of-tolerance condition occurs. It also includes an integrated watchdog timer to restart out-of-control microprocessors and a debounced pushbutton reset input for manual overrides. Its robust design eliminates the need for discrete components, providing a reliable hardware "watchdog" for embedded systems.
