Working Principle -
The IS471FE operates using a modulated infrared detection method. It drives an external IR LED through the GL output and detects reflected IR signals using an internal photodetector. The built in demodulator filters ambient light and outputs a clean digital signal when IR reflection is detected. This improves noise immunity and ensures stable detection in varying lighting conditions.
