ISO122P Precision Isolation Amplifier DIP-8 (ISO122P IC)
The ISO122P is a precision analog isolation amplifier that uses a unique duty cycle modulation-demodulation technique to transmit signals across a 2pF differential capacitive barrier. This digital modulation ensures that the barrier's characteristics do not degrade signal integrity, providing high reliability and excellent transient immunity. Housed in a through-hole 8-pin DIP package (often listed in datasheets as 16-pin, but common "P" variants for standard breadboarding are 8-pin), it is designed to eliminate ground loops and protect sensitive circuitry from high-voltage transients.
This IC is a critical component in industrial process control for thermocouple or RTD isolation and 4mA to 20mA current loop systems. In India, it is frequently used in high-end medical instrumentation, motor control systems, and power monitoring equipment where galvanically isolating the input and output stages is required for safety and noise reduction.
