The TCRT1000 Reflective Photo Interrupter Sensor is a compact infrared optical sensor designed for non contact object detection using reflected IR light. It integrates an infrared emitting diode and a phototransistor in a single package, both oriented in the same direction. When an object comes within range, the emitted IR light reflects back to the phototransistor, causing a change in output signal for detection.
The sensor includes a daylight blocking filter, ensuring stable operation even in ambient light conditions. It is widely used in India for embedded systems, robotics, and industrial electronics, especially in applications such as line follower robots, object detection, and encoder systems.
